CHIMAERA — creative community in Copenhagen
01 — the idea
[khi-mæ-ra]
COME FOR THE ART.
STAY FOR THE PEOPLE.
Every CHIMAERA event puts artists and participants at the same table, working on the same thing. A lot of people think art is a talent you’re either born with or not. We don’t. Everyone can make something; some just need a nudge and someone to show them how. People get closer making something together than they ever do just watching.
02 — the artist
artists without a stage.
As young artists ourselves, Chimaera prioritizes putting artists, their name, their craft and their work into the spotlight, giving local artists a chance to share themselves and their art with a brand new audience resulting in a lasting impact for their work and the people who get to experience it.
03 — the people
make something yourself.
Chimaera makes artistic practice accessible through creating and doing, learning alongside others, and taking something home with them. Creativity and creating is an essential part of the human experience and Chimaera strives to bring people together in this process, creating art and connections, simultaneously.
04 — the practice
anywhere with a table
Over a thousand people have sat down with us, most of them holding an ink brush or a lump of clay for the first time. We’ve set up under a bridge, in a festival field and in a gallery. Tell us where yours is.
